The French luxury house has filed an order asking for control of the MetaBirkins smart contract, social media handles and royalties.

Olta Andoni, chief compliance officer at financial firm Enclave Markets, said artist Mason Rothschild was looking to “piggyback” off the French luxury brand’s reputation. But even artists who are creating digital art aren‘t free of consumer protection laws.

The verdict ends a year-long battle between the French luxury house and NFT artist Mason Rothschild over his MetaBirkin NFT collection.
